Overview

I set up McCann Consulting in the summer of 2016. Between April 2013 and August 2016 I was a Director and Senior Consultant in Full Circle Management Solutions in Belfast. Prior to that I was self-employed for 13½ years primarily in SME consultancy.

Over my 25 year career in consultancy I have given advice, mentored and produced reports for hundreds of SMEs in N Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Between January 2014 and August I was a Province Manager on the InterTradeIreland Acumen Programme working with SMEs in Connacht and the border counties in the RoI.

In the winter of 2015 I managed the Going North Programme in Mayo & Roscommon which brought 12 SMEs from those counties to NI for a trade visit. I have personally worked on a number of Elevate and TAV projects over the past three years in manufacturing and IT projects as well as the three areas listed above. Between February and June 2014, I mentored five SMEs on the Dungannon & South Tyrone creative-industries Programme resulting in the production of a forward action plan. I was also a mentor on the Dungannon & South Tyrone construction Programme working closely with five clients. During 2013, I was involved in the North West construction Network Audit and personally audited 20 businesses involved in the construction Industry in Tyrone, Derry and Donegal. Between 2007 and 2012, I was contracted by NITB to produce in excess of 50 appraisal documents for applications under the Tourism Development Programme. This has given me a good insight into the Tourism industry in N Ireland. I was also a mentor on the South West Export Programme during 2014 helping companies in Fermanagh and Tyrone take their first steps in exporting, mostly to the Republic.
