Deirdre has been a business consultant for 25 years. She has worked with hundreds of new and growth businesses, and has worked extensively on cross border trade and exporting. Deirdre has worked across several sectors, but has particular experience and expertise in the food and drink, construction, and tourism sectors. Deirdre has worked with small companies in UK, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Czech Republic and Lithuania. She has worked on export trade and has provided very practical support to companies wishing to find a route into new export markets. Deirdre has worked extensively with NI and RoI businesses to develop cross border trade and generate sales. Deirdre’s expertise lies in: • Conducting and analysing market research through secondary sources • Gathering primary data through direct contact with companies • Development of Competitor analysis • Development of databases of potential leads for businesses • Sales prospecting resulting in meetings with target prospects • Presentation skills and sales training for companies • Preparation of sales presentations Recent successful work Deirdre has carried out includes cross border prospecting and sales development with three construction sector companies, and cross border trade with food companies, which have successfully negotiated new contracts. Deirdre’s role was to prepare the company for export, develop a database of appropriate companies, contact the companies, set up sales meetings and prepare the business manager to make the sale.
